Location and Accessibility
The Car Wash is situated at 710 N Shortridge Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46219, USA. This address places it within a residential and commercial mix on the east side of Indianapolis. Shortridge Road is a local street, connecting to broader avenues, which suggests a neighborhood-level accessibility.
The importance of a conveniently located car wash cannot be overstated for busy individuals in Indianapolis. A spot that is easy to reach, without extensive detours, is always a plus for fitting car care into a demanding schedule. While 710 N Shortridge Rd might not be on a major arterial road, its presence within a populated area means it serves a local clientele. Public records indicate that this property is a mixed-use facility featuring "a 6 bay car wash, 1,425 SF warehouse space and (4) 350 SF professional service rental units." This structure suggests it's designed to be a local hub, potentially offering more than just washing services. Its immediate adjacency to a full-service US Post Office and a Kroger two properties down on 10th St further enhances its accessibility for those running errands in the area. This location caters to those who live or work nearby, offering a convenient option for quick and routine vehicle maintenance.
Services Offered
Based on customer reviews and public property information, the Car Wash at 710 N Shortridge Rd appears to primarily offer self-service wash bays, with potential for some automatic features.
- Self-Service Wash Bays: Customers have described attempting to wash their SUVs using "the water hose" and "the brush," which are characteristic tools found in self-service bays. This means users are provided with the equipment to wash their own vehicles, controlling the duration and specific areas of cleaning. These bays typically include:
- Hoses with various settings (e.g., presoak, soap, rinse, wax).
- Foaming brushes for scrubbing.
- Potential for Automatic Wash: While customer reviews specifically detail issues with self-service, some general information about car washes at this address type (specifically Brad's Car Wash which states self-service bays are available at $5, and offers automatic washes up to $20) suggests that this location *might* also offer automatic wash options. However, the direct customer feedback provided for "Car Wash" at this address focuses on self-service problems.
- Vacuums: Public records indicate that the car wash also "receives income off the 10 vacuums," suggesting that self-service vacuum stations are available for interior cleaning after a wash.
- Vending: The property also mentions "vending," implying that products like air fresheners, cloths, or window cleaner might be available for purchase.
It is important to note that the provided customer reviews specifically highlight issues with the functionality of the self-service equipment, such as "ZERO water pressure" and a "bone dry" brush, which directly impacts the effectiveness of these services.
Features / Highlights
Based on customer feedback, the features and highlights of the Car Wash at 710 N Shortridge Rd are largely characterized by reported functional issues, which are critical for prospective users to understand.
- Self-Service Bays: The facility offers multiple self-service wash bays (reportedly 6 bays according to property records). This feature generally appeals to customers who prefer to wash their vehicle themselves, have specific cleaning needs, or want to control the cost and time of their wash.
- On-Site Vacuums and Vending: The presence of 10 vacuums and vending machines provides additional convenience for customers to clean their vehicle's interior and purchase ancillary car care products.
- Reported Low Water Pressure: A significant highlight from customer reviews is the consistent complaint of "ZERO water pressure" or "Poor water pressure." This directly hinders the ability to effectively soap and rinse a vehicle, making the self-service process frustrating and inefficient. One customer detailed spending "a good 4 minutes TRYING to get the soap off, but since the water pressure is so low, I couldn't get much of it off."
- Reported Dry/Unusable Brushes: Another prominent issue mentioned is the "bone dry" condition of the brush, which makes it unusable for cleaning without risking scratches to the vehicle's paint.
- Lack of Maintenance: The phrase "not kept up with the time" suggests a general issue with equipment maintenance and modernization, leading to a "dissatisfied" customer experience.
- Customer Dissatisfaction: Both provided reviews express strong dissatisfaction and indicate that customers would "not recommend anyone to take there car their and Wash it," with one even resorting to going to a competitor ("Crew") to finish the wash.
These points indicate that while the facility offers the basic infrastructure for a self-service car wash, the consistent functionality and maintenance of the equipment appear to be significant areas of concern, directly impacting the quality of the wash experience.

Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals
For residents of Indianapolis, Indiana, particularly those in the immediate vicinity of 710 N Shortridge Rd, this Car Wash technically offers a local option for self-service vehicle cleaning. Its location within a mixed-use property, adjacent to a Kroger and a Post Office, provides geographical convenience for those running errands in the neighborhood. For individuals who prefer to take a hands-on approach to washing their vehicle and seek a self-service bay, the facility is physically present and offers the basic infrastructure, including wash bays and vacuums.
However, based on the provided customer reviews, it is crucial for local users to approach this Car Wash with a clear understanding of the potential challenges. These problems can lead to a frustrating experience, potentially requiring customers to seek an alternative car wash to complete the cleaning, as one reviewer noted.
While the concept of a local self-service car wash is inherently suitable for some, the current condition of the equipment as described in the reviews suggests that this specific location may not consistently deliver a satisfactory cleaning experience. Therefore, while it is geographically convenient for locals, prospective users should be aware of the reported operational drawbacks before committing their time and money. It would be advisable for local residents to check for recent improvements or consider alternatives if a reliable, fully functional wash is their primary goal.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1ZERO water pressure. I spent at least 8 minutes trying to clean my SUV. I was able to finally get some soap on my SUV after a long time trying to get the vehicle soapy with the water hose. The brush was bone dry, so I decided not to use it since I didn't want to scratch my SUV. I spent a good 4 minutes TRYING to get the soap off, but since the water pressure is so low, I couldn't get much of it off. I ended up just going over to Crew. Never again
May 08, 2025 · Oliver WattsPoor water pressure and not kept up with the time was very dissatisfied I honestly would not recommend anyone to take there car their and Wash it
May 08, 2025 · RussellFirst bay I used had no high pressure rinse 3 bucks wasted tried another bay 3 bucks wastes had no soap at the brush had to try another bay 3rd bay worked enough to do what I needed
May 12, 2025 · Dean FrazierIt used to be a very good. Now nothing works. All the vacuums don't work. The only thing that works is the dollar bill changer.
Mar 26, 2025 · James WilliamI would really like my money back. The pressure house was leaking at the connector, so not only did I not have proper pressure to wash my vehicle with, I got drenched in the process. $3.00 for 4 minutes and it didn't have enough pressure coming out of the wand to clean my wheels properly. And the rest of the bays were just as bad.How do I get a refund?
